The Best of the Best Brazilian Steakhouse in Philadelphia

For a genuine gourmand, very few things are as pleasing as a nicely cooked meal – the moment every part comes together flawlessly, it’s almost enchanting. In the mean time, a lousy dish can wreck an otherwise enjoyable experience, so it’s smart to do some checking and browse around for suggestions before making a decision about where to eat.

As if that does not make circumstances complex enough, there’s a lot more to contemplate about a restaurant than only the menu! The atmosphere of a place really can make an impact in your entire experience, whether it is supercilious and rude staff or a badly behaved baby the next table over. However it’s not all bad, of course – an amazing atmosphere is capable of turning a fine meal into a great dinner!

We’ve lived within Philadelphia for many years at this point, and we have amassed a pretty good collection of eateries we really like, covering anything from tiny mom-and-pop establishments to magnificent fine dining, and listed below are several of our all-time favorites (though it was so hard to pick!). This is what folks on Yelp.com are saying with regards to our choices:

This was SO good. I kept hearing about it, and thought alright I get it there’s a lot of meat what’s the big deal. Well, it’s delicious. The service is great. There’s a huge selection of appetizer-type food, calling it a salad bar is just wrong because it is far from that. There’s a ton of fresh interesting stuff to choose from. Everything I tried was amazing. The meat is so juicy and tender. MMM! Of course, the cocktails are just as good as the food. Our waiter heard it was a special occasion and brought us two glasses of champagne! If that doesn’t make you smile, I don’t know what will.

My fiance and I went back (with my parents) for their Taste of Philly tour, and again we were totally impressed. The Taste of Philly tour literally gives you a taste of every food that Philly is famous for – from the cheesesteak to the tomato pie to the soft pretzel, with a final stop at the Reading Terminal Market for a hoagie and chocolate chip cookie. The tour was delicious, and our tour guide (Judy) was informative and entertaining. You could tell she really enjoys her job and wants the group to love Philly as much as she does! Definitely plan to do another one of their tours in the future!

Atmosphere, Food, Drinks and Rosa’s service were excellent! It was our second visit from California and is a must on our next visit. Love this place!

Let’s Eat at Philadelphia’s Best Brazilian Steakhouse

Walking along the streets of Philadelphia, you suddenly have the craving for churrasco. The term ‘churrasco’ originated from Brazil and it refers to the grilling of different types of skewered meat over very hot coals. You ask yourself, where can I go for the best Brazilian steakhouse experience in town? Well wonder no more, let us discover the best Philadelphia has to offer.

Fogo de Chão, an authentic Brazilian steakhouse, goes a long way back in history. It started in 1979, in Porto Alegre, Brazil and eventually branched out all over the country and found its way to America in 1997. Fogo de Chão’s branch in Philadelphia is housed in the historic Caldwell’s Jewelry Building in 1227 Chestnut Street. As you are seated, you are given a disc with a green and a red side. Turn it on the green side to start being served their delicious churrasco table side. If you are done eating or need some time to pace yourself, flip it on the red side until you are ready to be served again. They serve different types of meat like picanha or a prime cut of sirloin, filet mignon and beef ancho, to name a few. They also offer traditional Brazilian side dishes which include warm cheese bread, crispy hot polenta, garlic mashed potatoes and caramelized bananas. You should also try their delicious selection of salads and other sides.

Another popular Brazilian steakhouse in Philly is na’Brasa, located at 680 North Easton Rd., Horsham. Specialty drinks will be given to you before you start your dinner. The restaurant’s style is similar with Fogo de Chão’s. A card is given with a brown and a yellow side. The brown signals the wait staff to begin tableside service while the yellow side signifies that you are satisfied or you need more time to eat. Their meat selection also includes picanha, sirloin, flank steak, sausages, and lamb chop to name a few. The meats are prepared and cooked to your liking. They also offer a wide variety of hot side dishes like rice, mashed potato, paella and chicken soup. na’Brasa also has a sushi station, a salad station, and an assortment of salad dressings and bread.

Our last stop is Picanha Brazilian Grill. It is located at 6501 Castor Avenue and is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. They also serve the usual churrasco fare which includes roast beef, ham, chicken and pork. They also have a salad bar and hot dishes like rice, beans, sausages and pasta. The cafeteria-style restaurant can seat 150 people. The place is very spacious, warm and cozy.

You should definitely bring your appetite to these very extensive buffets. One thing is for sure, they will never run out of food. Come and visit the nearest steakhouse today to satisfy your meat cravings.
